Introduction

At Zin Flow, we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the handling of user data in our application.

Key Privacy Points

  • Local-First Processing: Zin Flow operates entirely on your local device, with all content processing completed locally without requiring server support.
  • Smart Content Processing: All content processing is done locally with no server communication involved. All access is fully anonymous and no personal user information is collected, stored, or processed.
  • Library Feature: The new Library feature allows you to save and organize URLs, with all Library data stored locally and synced via iCloud, which we cannot access.
  • In-App Browser: The built-in WebView browser allows access to and saving content from sites requiring login. Browsing history and login information remain on your device only and are not collected or transmitted.
  • Safari Extension: The Safari Extension allows you to save articles to your Library with one tap directly in Safari browser. The extension only accesses the current page's URL information and does not access your browsing history, bookmarks, or other personal data. All data processing is completed locally on your device.
  • Chrome Extension: The Chrome Extension allows you to save articles to your Library directly in Chrome browser. The extension only accesses the current page's URL information and does not access your browsing history, bookmarks, or other personal data. The extension communicates with a dedicated server through anonymous temporary storage, and data is immediately deleted after synchronization to bound devices.
  • iCloud Sync: The app enables iCloud synchronization by default, allowing your data to automatically sync across iOS and Mac devices. Your data is stored in your personal iCloud account, which we cannot access.
  • No Data Collection: We do not collect, store, or process any user personal data outside of what is necessary for the app's functionality.
  • Local Storage: App data is stored locally on your device. We cannot access this data.

Data Security

Zin Flow employs a multi-layered security architecture to protect your data:

  • Local Data Protection: All your data primarily remains on your local device and is synced by default to your personal iCloud account. We have no access to your data stored locally or in iCloud.
  • System-Level Security: Your data is protected by your device's built-in security features and Apple's iCloud security mechanisms.
  • In-App Browser Security: In-app browser usage data (such as browsing history, login state) is only stored locally and is not transmitted or collected.
  • Extension Data Security:
    • Safari Extension: Data is processed entirely locally without involving any third-party services
    • Chrome Extension: Uses anonymous temporary storage with dedicated server for communication, containing only URLs and web content, deleted immediately after sync
  • iCloud Control: iCloud synchronization is enabled by default. If you do not wish to use this feature, you will need to disable iCloud on your device or avoid using an iCloud account.

iCloud Usage

Regarding Zin Flow's iCloud synchronization feature, please note:

  • The app enables iCloud sync by default, and your app data will automatically synchronize through Apple's iCloud service, allowing you to access your data on all devices signed in with the same Apple ID.
  • Synchronized content includes URLs saved in your Library and app data such as reading status, creating a seamless experience between iOS and Mac versions.
  • Data synchronization is subject to Apple's iCloud Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
  • We do not control the iCloud service and cannot access any data stored in your iCloud account.
  • If you do not wish to use the iCloud synchronization feature, you will need to disable iCloud in your device system settings or avoid signing in with an iCloud account.

Safari Extension & Privacy

Regarding the Safari Extension feature:

  • The Safari Extension only accesses the URL of the current page you are visiting to save the article to your Library.
  • The extension does not access your browsing history, bookmarks, passwords, or other personal Safari data.
  • All extension operations are completed locally on your device and do not send your personal information to any servers.
  • The extension's runtime permissions are strictly controlled by Apple's Safari Extension framework to ensure privacy and security.
  • You can manage or disable the Safari Extension's permissions at any time in iOS Settings.

Chrome Extension & Privacy

Regarding the Chrome Extension feature:

  • The Chrome Extension only accesses the URL of the current page you are visiting to save the article to your Library.
  • The extension does not access your browsing history, bookmarks, passwords, or other personal Chrome data.
  • The extension needs to communicate with the app's dedicated server for data synchronization using anonymous temporary storage.
  • Temporary data only includes saved web content and URL information, without any user-sensitive information.
  • Data is immediately deleted from the server after synchronization to your bound device app, not stored long-term.
  • Comparison with Safari Extension: Chrome Extension requires server relay for cross-platform compatibility; Safari Extension is natively developed with completely local data storage, making it relatively more secure.
  • You can disable or remove the Chrome Extension at any time in the Chrome Extension management page.
  • The Chrome Extension follows data minimization principles and only processes data when you actively use it.

Library Feature & Privacy

Regarding the new Library feature:

  • All URLs and document content saved in your Library are stored only on your device and in your iCloud account (if sync is enabled).
  • When you use the Safari Extension or Share Extension to save content directly to your Library, the data is stored directly to your device without going through any intermediate servers.
  • All organization of articles (chapter ordering, section adjustments, etc.) when exporting to EPUB is processed locally only.
  • Your reading habits, collection preferences, and other information are not collected or analyzed.

Crash Reporting

Regarding app crash reporting:

  • We use Bugsnag service to collect app crash reports to help us diagnose and fix technical issues, improving app stability.
  • Only when the app crashes will necessary technical data be automatically transmitted. During normal operation, no data is transmitted.
  • Crash reports only contain technical information from app runtime (such as error stack traces, device information, OS version, etc.) used to diagnose crash causes.
  • Crash reports do not contain your personal data, library content, browsing history, or any other sensitive information.
  • Collected crash data is used solely for technical analysis and troubleshooting, and will not be used for any other purposes or shared with third parties.
  • This feature is enabled by default in the app to improve app quality.
