Introduction
At Zin Feed, we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the handling of user data in our RSS reading and conversion application.
Key Privacy Points
- No Personal Data Collection: Zin Feed does not collect, store, or process any personal user data. We maintain complete anonymity with no personal user tracking.
- Local Data Storage: All your RSS subscriptions, reading history, starred articles, and app settings are stored locally on your device only. If you enable iCloud functionality, this data may automatically sync to your other Apple devices, but we cannot access any data stored in iCloud.
- RSS Feed Processing: When fetching RSS feeds, the app communicates directly with RSS servers without any intermediate data collection or logging.
- Export Features: EPUB and PDF generation happens entirely on your device. No content is sent to external servers during the conversion process.
- OPML Import/Export: OPML file handling is processed locally on your device without any data transmission to third parties.
- Background Updates: Automatic RSS feed updates occur directly between your device and RSS servers without any data interception.
- Feed Configuration: All feed settings, grouping preferences, and language configurations are stored locally.
Data Security
Zin Feed is designed with privacy-first principles:
- All application data remains exclusively on your local device. If iCloud is enabled, data syncs to your other Apple devices but remains protected by Apple's privacy policies and is inaccessible to us.
- We have no servers that collect, store, or process user data.
- Your RSS subscriptions and reading habits are completely private and not shared with anyone.
- RSS feed URLs and content are processed locally without external tracking.
- Your device's built-in security features protect all app data.
- No user accounts, registration, or personal information are required to use the app.
RSS Feed Processing
Regarding RSS feed management and content processing:
- RSS feeds are fetched directly from their original servers without any intermediary services.
- Feed discovery from website URLs happens locally on your device.
- All RSS content parsing and article extraction occurs on-device.
- Feed update schedules and frequencies are managed locally without external monitoring.
- Failed feed updates and error information are stored locally only.
Export and Conversion Features
Regarding EPUB and PDF generation:
- All content conversion from RSS to EPUB/PDF happens entirely on your device.
- Generated e-books remain on your device and are not transmitted anywhere.
- Grouping and formatting preferences are processed locally.
- Export progress and history are stored locally without external logging.
- Sharing exported files uses your device's native sharing mechanisms.
Crash Reporting
Regarding app crash reporting:
- We use Bugsnag service to collect app crash reports to help us diagnose and fix technical issues, improving app stability.
- Only when the app crashes will necessary technical data be automatically transmitted. During normal operation, no data is transmitted.
- Crash reports only contain technical information from app runtime (such as error stack traces, device information, OS version, etc.) used to diagnose crash causes.
- Crash reports do not contain your personal data, RSS subscription content, reading history, or any other sensitive information.
- Collected crash data is used solely for technical analysis and troubleshooting, and will not be used for any other purposes or shared with third parties.
- This feature is enabled by default in the app to improve app quality.
Usage Analytics
Regarding app usage analytics:
- We use Aptabase, a privacy-first analytics service, to collect anonymous usage data to help us improve the app.
- According to Aptabase's documentation and under our current configuration, Aptabase is designed not to collect personal data such as IP addresses or device-level persistent identifiers.
- The data collected is limited to functional, aggregated usage information, such as which features are used or app launch frequency.
- For more information about Aptabase's privacy practices, please visit their website at https://aptabase.com.
- This feature is enabled by default to help us understand how the app is used and where it can be improved.
- iCloud Sync of Analytics Identifiers: An app-generated anonymous analytics identifier may be synced via iCloud across devices signed into the same iCloud account (Apple ID). This allows us to understand cross-device usage patterns while maintaining anonymity. This identifier is randomly generated within the app, is not derived from your Apple ID, and is not associated with your Apple ID in our analytics system.
Third-Party Services
Zin Feed operates with minimal third-party dependencies:
- We use Bugsnag for crash reporting and Aptabase for anonymous usage analytics as described above.
- We do not use any third-party advertising services.
- No data is shared with external partners for marketing or tracking purposes.
- RSS feed sources are accessed directly without intermediary services.
- The app does not communicate with any services other than those explicitly mentioned and the RSS feeds you subscribe to.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
